Art & Corgs Artist Feature: An interview with Jen Fuj

Tell us three unusual or interesting facts about yourself.
- I don’t always match my socks.
- I paint my nails when I’m procrastinating
- It is because of me that there are three appearances of a corgi in three different Cartoon Network episodes.

How did you get started as an artist?
I was labeled as the “artist” ever since elementary school. I enjoyed anything creative, especially drawing, sculpting, and painting. My parents and sister are also very talented in the arts, so it definitely runs in the family!

What kind of work do you create? Can you briefly describe your mediums and process?
I enjoy random things. I’m the type of person who likes to stay busy, and constantly try new things. I’ll see something inspiring and will immediately want to give it a try myself. A lot of my work starts with an idea or concept, put to paper, and then realized in whatever medium I feel is best suited.

Why Corgis? Tell us about your relationship with them.
I can’t remember the first time I saw a corgi, but I do know that it was love at first sight. Just something about their little legs, big ears, overly long body, and huge smiles that just warms my heart. After I discovered corgis, I knew that my first dog HAD to be one! When I graduated college, my dreams came true when I brought home my little buddy, Henry. Best dog ever! I’m biased, but he really is the best :)

What else inspires you?
People are amazing. I love to people watch. Everyone has their own unique story to tell. Nature and just our daily surroundings are endless sources of inspiration.

What’s your next big project? Do you have any aspirations for the future?
I’m always thinking of new designs or products to create. Everything is always better when there’s a corgi on it! ;)

Is your work for sale? Where can we find more of your work online?
Yes! You can shop all my corgi goodies via etsy.com/shop/ThreeCheersForCorgis

‘You said you didn’t want to waste your time on people who aren’t going to matter,’ I said, and he nodded. ‘But how do you know they’re not going to matter unless you give it a shot?’

We’re all going to die, all of us, what a circus! That alone should make us love each other but it doesn’t. We are terrorized and flattened by trivialities, we are eaten up by nothing.

Never in reply to the question, to what country you belong, say that you are an Athenian or a Corinthian, but that you are a citizen of the world. For why do you say that you are an Athenian, and why do you not say that you belong to the small nook only into which your poor body was cast at birth?

I didn’t realize how much these small discussions have meant up until tonight.

The things that we’re discussing, and the things that you are helping me through, they’re small and monumental at the same time.

You’re teaching me to weigh options and observe before feeling emotion. Sure, they’re baby steps, but I’m pulling my head out of my ass so that’s what matters.

You’ve helped me to realize that some things do change for the better, that there aren’t always definite endings, and that change comes when you least expect it.

Today, and tonight, was a real eye opener. It’s still very surreal that things have changed so much, but in a way I’m glad that they have.

Thank you, so much.

This is actually really great because Kanye West has fought depression and suicide this sort of confidence worked for him and wow Kanye West. Anyone who is depressed, believe you are the Kanye Best.
